PADI or SSI Diving Courses

There are several scuba diving certification federations in the world, PADI and SSI are the two largest ones and their certifications and qualifications are recognized worldwide.

The World Recreational Scuba Training Council (WRSTC) has set training and safety standards for all dive organizations. This makes sure that there are no basic differences in the skills you will learn with PADI or SSI nor to the safety standards they stick to.

There are some minor differences of emphasis in training, mainly on how instructors can adjust the flow of the course fundamentals. As a novice diver you will not be affected by these little differences but one system might have your preference above the other. In the end it is your instructor who teaches you, with help of the PADI or SSI system, and therefore responsible for the quality of your course.
