Search & Recovery

Find and bring back that lost treasure

We’ve all experienced it before…you’re on a boat or on the shore and something drops into the water making its way towards the bottom.

Getting lost gear back is one of the most common uses for search and recovery. Larger objects like fins are quite easy to recover but smaller objects such as rings or dive computers demand more time and different skills. The same goes for raising objects too heavy to swim with. Special equipment and dedicated skills are needed.

The PADI Search and Recovery Specialty course builds up your ability to locate and salvage lost objects, large and small, well within recreational limits.

Four dives will be made, during which you will be searching for lost objects of various sizes and you will recover them using appropriate techniques. After completing the theoretical part and all the dives you will obtain your PADI Search and Recovery Diver certification, which qualifies you to plan, organise and make dives in order to reclaim that valuable object which went missing.
