The scuba diving is year round, with October to May being the best months for visibility and good weather conditions. Visibility can reach a whopping 30 meters, but in general we have between 10 to 20 meters of visibility which is a lot better then our neighbours in Koh Samet or Pattaya. You do not need to fear strong currents here, which makes the diving very laid back and straightforward. Dive times are generally one hour, but if everyone agrees we can stay a bit longer, depending on air supply and general dive safety of course.
We have been diving these waters for over 7 years now, so we know all the good stuff and we would like you to see and enjoy this also on your dive trips. This means that under any conditions you will have a rewarding and interesting dive. The marine life goes from small shrimps, decorator crabs, clownfish over to parrotfish, surgeonfish, angelfish, moray eels, rays and the bigger boys like barracuda, king mackerel and of course the majestic whale shark. Hard corals make up the biggest group of corals on our reefs and they are in excellent condition and come in a huge variety ranging from brain coral over mushroom coral to staghorn corals. A good mix of soft corals can be found around the different sites and your guide will certainly point them out to you as well as their inhabitants! All this together offers every diver something to look forward to and when you’re into photography you can have a ball here with muck diving and doing the macro stuff or you can go wide angle and shoot the nice scenery and the bigger fish. There is plenty to please all of you out there...
As you can read Koh Chang has got a lot to offer for all scuba divers and to have a better idea of its underwater scenery and fish life have a look in our gallery where you will find pictures being taken around various dive sites here.
In the green (rainy) season diving is also possible but you might have to take possible thunderstorms and rough seas in to account which will limit the amount of sites where diving is safe and still worthwhile. Just inform your self by mailing us for the latest weather conditions.
A typical day of diving starts by picking you up from your resort and transferring you to our dive center. Here you will be welcomed by our staff and introduced to your dive guide for the day. Together you will check the equipment and make sure that everything fits well.
Our equipment is well looked after and serviced by our in house technician, so you will get a proper functioning and clean outfit. We use Mares and Scubapro BCD’s and regulators. Although the water temperature varies between 27 to 30 c we offer you a 3mm shorty wetsuit for your comfort.
Just before the boat leaves we will give you a boat briefing and tell you about the safety equipment on board as well as the safety procedures. A well outlined plan of the day rounds the briefing up and off we go!
Speedboat trips leave in the morning and in the early afternoon, whereas the slow boat only departs in the morning.
